About InvoiceCanvas
InvoiceCanvas is a free invoice maker for people who send a few invoices a month: freelancers, one-person studios, small agencies. You fill in a form, an A4 sheet redraws beside it, and one button turns that sheet into a PDF with real text and vector rules. There is no account to create, no trial that expires and no per-invoice limit.
Everything happens inside the browser tab. The page is static HTML with no backend, so your client's name, their VAT number, your bank details and your logo are never transmitted anywhere — there is no endpoint that could receive them. Drafts exist only if you explicitly turn on local saving, and then only in this browser's storage, where one button removes them again.
It is built and maintained by Interhive OÜ, a small studio in Tallinn that makes tiny, dependable web tools.
What it does
- A live A4 sheet
210 × 297 mm at 96 dpi, scaled to fit the pane, redrawn on every keystroke. A hairline shows where each printed page ends.
- Four layouts
Classic navy serif, Modern green sans with filled totals, Minimal black hairlines, and Warm terracotta with banded rows — each one a real layout, not a colour swap.
- A real PDF
Built with pdf-lib: selectable text, vector rules, embedded subsetted fonts, an embedded logo, automatic pagination and the document metadata filled in.
- Four document languages
English, Russian, German and Estonian labels, with number grouping and date formats to match — independent of the language of the interface.
What it does not do
It does not send invoices, chase payments, talk to your bank or file anything with a tax authority. It does not know your local VAT rules and cannot tell you whether a rate is right — you choose the rate, the tool does the arithmetic. And it cannot push an invoice into a national e-invoicing portal, so if a client is in a country with a mandate, ask them how they want to receive it.
